In any area of a man’s life, his level of performance is in direction proportion to his wife’s confidence in him. I was reminded of that fact this morning as we were getting ready for the day and my wife said “I love my life!”Â
As she said that I was filled with a healthy sense of pride. As a husband and father, you want your family to enjoy the life you are working so hard for them to have. As a leader, you want to hear similar comments from your team.
After 20 years of marriage, the following are ten things I love to hear my wife say. Just in case you are wondering, I’m leaving out anything related to intimacy. There are plenty of blogs out there regarding that subject.
- “I love my life!” – Already addressed.
- “Honey, the yard looks great!”
- “You look handsome today.”
- “Have you lost weight?”
- “He’s home! He’s home! He’s home!” – For more information on this, read Ladies, How To Welcome A Man Home by clicking here.
- “Honey, kick your feet up and relax. Would you like to watch the game?” – Insert your particular hobby here.
- “I love my church.” – Anyone who has ever dealt with the opposite of this knows how difficult that can be.
- “You’re a great father.”
- “You were born to do this.” – Insert your unique calling in here.
- “I love you” – when said for no apparent reason, just because she does.
Like in any marriage, there is also a list of things she says that I don’t like to hear.  However, I do love hearing that list of ten. What are some of your favorite things to hear from your spouse?
