“The bigger the gap between the haves and have-nots, the more the have-nots have to take bigger risks.” – Billy Beane

There were some great leadership quotes contained in this week’s editions of the USA Today that all leaders need to put in their toolbox.  As a bonus, I’m also including the latest statistics from the FCC on social media and technology.  Enjoy!

February 22nd – Robert Griffin III on the NFL Combine

  • Maturity – “This is a business trip.  I’m the CEO of Griffin Enterprises.  It’s my job to sell my product.”
  • Trust Your Experience – “The more you play, the better you’re going to get…I learned to trust my eyes.”
  • Perspective – “They say that home is where you spend Christmas.”
  • Stability – “They’ve (my parents) done a great job keeping me grounded.”
  • Pleasure – “I’m getting ready to go to the only combine in my life…I want to take in the whole experience.”

February 23rd – Oakland A’s GM Billy Beane

  • Reality – “We do it (trade players) because we have no other choice.”
  • Risk – “The bigger the gap between the haves and have-nots, the more the have-nots have to take bigger risks.”

February 24th – Social Media Statistics

  • 53% of tablet owners are men.
  • 18-34 years old know as “Generation C” because they are constantly connected, make up 23% of the U.S. population.  However, they make up 39% of the smart phone users and 33% of the tablet owners.
