The Top 10 Leadership Posts I Read The Week Of May 7th
The last week has been extraordinarily significant in terms of the impact of leadership decisions. From the heartbreaking death of Junior Seau to President Obama’s support of gay marriage, we are in a time in which leaders are dealing with high-stakes issues that have generational and eternal impact.
As you are developing your decision grid and worldview as a leader, the following were the Top 10 Leadership Posts I read in the past week. Let me know your thoughts on these after reading them.
- Seau’s Death Sheds Light On Strain Of Life After Football by Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune.
- Chick-Fil-A Leadercast by Paul Alexander. Paul extracts the best leadership quotes and principles from each speaker of this event.
- Why Did Jesus Die? – Jesus and Puppet Pilate by Bruxy Cavey. This is an incredible reminder of what all Christians should focus on during the upcoming political season. Bruxy is probably Canada’s best known communicator. He’s the teaching pastor at The Meeting House in Toronto and a frequent conference speaker internationally. Wait until you see him!
- Junior Seau’s Death Sheds Light On Ignorance Of Depression by Christ McCosky of The Detroit News.
- How to Ensure Change Never Happens by Carey Nieuwhof.  Carey answers the question of which members of your team do you need to have involved in the process that leads to change.
- The Lost Steve Jobs Tapes by Brent Schlender at www.FastCompany.com. This feature contains one of my favorite new leadership quotes – People remember stories more than products.
- Brand New Research: Mother’s Day Is Top Non-Religious Holiday for Church Attendance by Ed Stetzer. Here is proof – we all love our mothers!
- 10 Reasons Why I’d Make A Terrible Feminist by Nikki Weatherford may be the best post I have read in a long time.
- A Prayer For The Christian Creative by Carlos Whitaker is a no-holds barred look into the feelings of creative Christians.
- “Soft-Pedaling On Homosexuality?”by Pete Wilson which was prompted by Andy Stanley Sermon Illustration on Homosexuality Prompts Backlash by Christianity Today.
Also, I want to add 10 Habits Of Highly Effective Stewardship Pastors.  Fellowship Bible Church, where I serve as an elder, was featured on this past Tuesday evening’s CBS National News broadcast. To see the news clip and hear how we are serving the poor and under-resourced in North Atlanta, click the link above.

Always good to see a couple of Canadians on the list Brian!
Thanks for all you’re doing to encourage leaders!
Thank you Scott. It is a privilege to expand the Kingdom by spotlighting as many great Christian leaders as possible. I appreciate the partnership.
Brian, the Leadercast simulcast that I attended in McDonough Ga was awesome and as you know it was on Choices. The two main choices you mention in Seau’s death and President Obama’s support of Gay marriage are the two that stand out to me. I was shocked at President Obama because as a Chirstian or so he says, he let pressure from the outside or his skewed views cost him thousands of Christian votes. I absolutely could not believe it. The choices you make will play a positive or negative role in your future. Great post!
Lincoln,
It is great to connect with another leader in the Atlanta area. Like I said when I commented on your site, I have subscribed to your RSS Feed. You have a great site! I also appreciated your perspective on President Obama’s stance.
Thanks and I look forward to connecting in the future.
Brian
Oh wow, I just saw this, and I am so honored! Thanks for including me, this made my day!
Nikki,
I am glad you are honored. It was a tremendous post! You can think our mutual friend Nicole at http://www.modernreject.com who mentioned your post. I then clicked the linked and LOVED IT!
Great words. Happy Mother’s Day
Brian
