As a member of the Catalyst Blog Team and INJOY Stewardship Solutions, I will be bringing you live updates from the much anticipated Catalyst Conference in Atlanta, GA.  The theme for this year’s conference is Change Is Coming.

Today’s third session also included by Dr. John Perkins, President of the John and Vera Perkins Foundation and Mark DeYmaz, Pastor of Mosaic Church.  These great men provided us a biblical framework for multi-ethnic ministry.  The following are 18 Leadership Quotes and Lessons from their challenging session.

1. If the Kingdom of Heaven is not segregated then why on earth is the local church. – MD
2. Churches are 10% than the neighborhoods there in and 20% more than their public schools. – MD
3. Through 56 million were added to roles of the United States in the last decade, 446,500 joined churches. Less than 1%. – MD
4. America remains divided over all things ethnic. – MD
5. The New Testament Church was multi-ethnic. – MD
6. Every church in the New Testament outside of Jerusalem was multi-ethnic. – MD
7. When your church is multi-ethnic, missions isn’t a program. It is who you are. – MD
8. Today our church has the largest food bank in Little Rocket. – MD
9. God is using race to heal the church. – MD
10. Torture is bringing you as near to death as they could and not kill you. – JP
11. I want to preach a gospel that reconciles black, white, Jews and Gentiles in one body. – JP
12. The Kingdom of God is going to reflect all races. – JP
13. The problem with reconciliation is we don’t know the extent of the damage of rejected God all these years. – JP
14. I want to see this new generation put new wine in new wineskin, JP
15. The last thing you want to do is split a church in the name of unity – MD
16. The Christian life is the out-living or an in-living grace. JP
17. It’s not about building buildings. It’s about a black man and white man walking together, worshipping together. – MD
18. We’ve been making them Christians without making them disciples…You have to preach the full gospel of Jesus Christ. – JP
