Live Blog From Catalyst ’14 – 33 Leadership Quotes And Lessons From Christine Caine

As a member of the Catalyst Blog Team and INJOY Stewardship Solutions, I will be bringing you live updates from the much anticipated Catalyst Conference in Atlanta, GA.  The theme for this year’s conference is Change Is Coming.

Today’s second session was conducted by Christine Caine, Founder of the A21 Campaign, an anti-human trafficking organization that fights slavery around the globe.  The following are 33 Leadership Quotes and Lessons from her inspiring session.

Also, before reading, make sure you check out the announcement from INJOY Stewardship Solutions shown below about a FREE webinar I will be conducting on October 16th for churches needing to raise capital in 2015.  Now onto Christine’s thoughts:

  1. We need do more than lean in. We need to thrive in the name of Jesus Christ.
  2. When I was in delivery I discovered the fourth member of the Holy Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and God the Epidural
  3. It is true God looks at the heart but it is also true He is the only one that often looks at the heart.
  4. It’s the boring stuff that’s going to sustain us.
  5. If we do not give attention to strengthening our spiritual core, if our core is not strong, at some point our world is going to collapse.
  6. The reason you see many start well but not finish well is that their core is not strong.
  7. I am astounded by how many start but do not finish.
  8. All of us love our neighbors as ourselves. We just don’t love ourselves.
  9. We have a whole bunch of Christians wanting to change the world but not change themselves.
  10. The heart is the seat of our passion. If God has our heart, He has us.
  11. You don’t what you want to for passion.
  12. Somewhere if we don’t ruthlessly guard our hearts, out of it will flow every issue of life.
  13. If your heart is so full of yourself you don’t have enough room for anyone else.
  14. Our heart will take us to our destiny.
  15. If your heart is toxic it will seep into every area of your leadership.
  16. At 48 I feel like I have more energy than most 25 year old.
  17. Get your face off Facebook and get it in the Book.
  18. Skinny jeans and a tattoo does not make you a leader.
  19. My latter days will be greater than my former days.
  20. Get the junk out of your heart. Deal with it.
  21. If our soul wants damaged before we were saved, praying a salvation prayer does not heal your soul, it saves it. It still needs healing.
  22. If we have damaged souls we seep like pussy souls over the people we lead.
  23. Some of us are not willing to embrace the pain of recovery. And sometimes the pain of recovery is greater than the pain of the injury.
  24. We don’t want God to come in deep. We just want to visit with God. God doesn’t want visitation rights. He wants to move in.
  25. We can’t reach the world because we’re keeping Christians on life support.
  26. Thoughts are like a train. They’ll take you somewhere.
  27. As leaders we often don’t even think about what we think.
  28. We ought to be ruthless about what goes into our minds.
  29. I didn’t need W-O-R-R-I-E-S. I needed prayer W-A-R-R-I-O-R-S.
  30. My fight was not against cancer. It was against fear.
  31. As leaders, let’s make a decision to jump on the right train of thought. Let’s believe what God says.
  32. God never sleeps or slumbers. He’s staying awake. Tell the devil I’m going to bed.
  33. The degree to which we are free and the degree at which we are healed is the degree at which we will lead people.

More leadership insights to come throughout the day.
