Each month I list the Top 10 most read posts from the previous month (see below).  The list also tells me what resonates most with you the readers.  In October, two of the top seven posts were guest blogs.  Exposing you to other leaders and allowing them to invest in your life is proving to have great benefit.

Therefore, I want to spotlight 10 Resources Every Pastor And Church Leader Must Have.  These are individuals, groups, conference or resources which are helping pastors and church leaders dramatically improve in their leadership.  Make sure you take advantage of each of these:

  1. Best Church Leadership Blog – The best collection of leadership blogs can be found on a daily basis at ChurchLeaders.com.  The best individual Christian leadership blog is written by the incomparable Lead Pastor of Connexus Church in Barre, ON, Carey Nieuwhof.  Also, make sure you subscribe to his recently launched Podcast.
  2. Best Capital Campaign Company – I am biased but I truly feel INJOY Stewardship Solutions (ISS) is the best organization out there.  All reputable companies help you raise 1.5 to 2 times your annual budget in sacrificial dollars.  What makes ISS unique is the I Was Broke. Now I’m Not (IWBNIN) personal finance coaching embedded into the partnership.  The IWBNIN coaching increases general fund giving by 10-29% in regular giving.  Therefore, in total ministry dollars raised (weekly giving + sacrificial giving), ISS is performing at a high level.  If you want some personal attention, email me at briand@injoystewardship.com and I will serve you well.
  3. Best Church Bookkeepers – Led by Bryan and Shannon Miles along with Randy Ongie, MAG Bookkeeping helps busy pastors and growing churches by serving as their virtual church bookkeeper connected to the duties of church accounting and payroll.
  4. Best Church Builder – There are some very creative organizations available to church leaders who will do a superlative job. However, because they only work with churches, I have an affinity for Cogun Builders led by Scott Couchenour.  There is something admirable about organizations who view the church as such a priority they work with nothing else.  I struggle who see the church as “a market” rather than the Bride of Christ.
  5. Best Church Leadership BooksKilling Cockroaches by Tony Morgan and Axioms by Bill Hybels are the finest two books I have ever read in regard to how lead a church on a day-in, day-out basis.  Absolute classics.  I would also add Creativty, Inc by Ed Catmull.  Catmull is one of the founders of Pixar Studios.  This book deals with creativity at the highest level, building an organization, the creation and functionality of teams, and dealing with high-capacity leaders like Steve Jobs.
  6. Best Church Lender – I cannot recommend Dennis Moses and Bank of the West enough.  Few people love churches more.  In fact, I wrote a complete post about Dennis here because of the impact he has made in my life. For Southern Baptist churches, let me give you a second name.  Contact Matt Carter of Baptist Church Loan Corporation at mcarter@baptistchurchloan.org.
  7. Best Conference – Though it is primarily a children’s ministry conference, the pastors track at The Orange Conference is spring is by-far the most helpful, applicable and practical 3-days I spend each year.  In fact, the Senior Pastors Luncheon which included Perry Noble, Derwin Gray, Carey Nieuwhof and Jeff Henderson was my favorite event in 2014.  If you put this on your calendar for April 29th through May 1st (and why wouldn’t you), you will find me on the front row live-blogging.
  8. Best Personal Finance Material – While Dave Ramsey and FPU are the most recognizable, Joe Sangl and the Financial Learning Experience (FLE) is what you should be looking at.  Birthed out of NewSpring Church, the advantages are the FLE is it is delivered on-site, offers Financial Coaching Training as part of the weekend experience, provides 75+ free financial tools, a 6-week (much more user friendly) small group curriculum and builds a tithe into each budget.  Therefore, not only are people experiencing financial freedom, but the church’s weekly giving increases by an average of 10-29%.
  9. Best Content Provider And CoachMichael Lukaszewski provides everything from personal coaching to content creation to church growth to staffing assistance to environmental assessments.  Check him out by clicking here.
  10. Best Volunteer Material – With its A-B-C-D-E system, nothing beats Volunteer Rocket.  And at $99 per month for 7 months, you can’t beat the price.

The Kingdom of God is so vast you could never list all the quality resources available to pastors and church leaders in a single post.  Please leave a comment telling us of other resources which have had a positive impact on your ministry.
