- Unless there is someone keeping everything aligned, most likely ministries will become silos…It’s not a step. It’s a program.
- I hate meetings. I find them to be a waste of time.
- You have to care just as much about what the pre-school is doing as what you are doing.
- We have found many churches spend a lot time talking about mission. We have found only a few churches spend a lot of time talking about strategy.
- Mission is what you are going to do. Strategy is how you are going to do it.
- Are you aligning your systems so that your staff, your leaders and your parents lead to the same end in mind?
- For us, the end is all about relationships.
- Discipleship best happens through relationship.
- If you’re going to have a NextGen strategy and want them to come back, the experience gauge is very important.
- For me, growing up in church was very boring.
- Your experience needs to be relevant to their lives and fun.
- Are you crafting core truths into engaging, relevant, and memorable experiences?
- Do people like coming to the environments you are creating?
- When was the last time you experienced (or tried to) experience your program as an outsider?
- It would be more interesting to bring in an outsider who is unchurched to evaluate what you are doing.
- Nobody has the ability the life of a kid like a parent does.
- The average church leader has 40 teachable hours with a kid or teenager. The parents have an average of 3,000 teachable hours with a kid or teenager.
- We want to tap into that 3,000 hours a parent has with their children.
- How have you developed a strategy where parents actively participate in the spiritual formation of their ows children to build an everyday faith?
- When was the last time you considered how your current program could help parents lead their children?
- For some volunteer positions, there are opportunities for parents to serve alongside their children.
