The afternoon’s first speaker was best selling author, speaker and creativity guru, Chris Barez-Brown. He has been unleashing the creative potential of worldwide organizations including Unilever, Nike, and Diageo. The following are 12 Leadership Quotes And Lessons from his session on creativity:
- Conscious thinking is great when sitting at your desk. It is great for To-Do lists but it doesn’t tap into our creativity.
- Instead of talking and discussing how to make a great paper airplane, just do it and you get real results back.
- By doing more stuff, you get your sub-conscience working for you.
- When you’re working on a specific project, you have to supplement that with feeling.
- We are dominated by feelings and we don’t have enough thinking going one.
- Our conscience brains burns lots of energy.
- Over time, we become more habituated and live as much as 80% of our time on autopilot.
- While being on autopilot is efficient, it is bad for leaders.
