This morning I had the incredible privilege of sitting in a session conducted by the incredible senior pastor of NorthStar Church Mike Linch. As part of an event put on by INJOY Stewardship Solutions called Capital Campaign University. Mike gave an inspirational message on how to address the giants all leaders face. - We got way ahead and strapped ourselves with something we didn’t know ahead. The enemy, a giant of debt.
- We built too small.
- I was 34 years old and I was ready (to be a senior pastor). I did not know 2008 was going to happen.
- Debt became our Goliath. It became the enemy standing in the middle of field telling us what we could and couldn’t do.

- Fear is a real deal. Goliath became bigger than my dream of what God could do.
- We made a decision in 2013 to be Bold.
- We had the people. We didn’t have the process.
- What stood on the other side of the Giant became bigger than the Giant. What stood on the other side was the vision of what could be.
- We’re taking out this Giant.
- What stood on the other side of the Giant was more ministry than we ever could do.
- Our debt now stands at $1.9 million. We will do some things this fall to get rid of it.
- We’re going to turn loose $46,500 per month that will now go out into our community.
- The longer the Giant stays in the land, the larger the Giant looks.
- Go get the Giant!
- My prayer is you come out swinging.
- The Giant is not too big to fight. He is too big to miss.
- It isn’t about us. It is about a community that needs Jesus.
- It takes all of us being our best.
