David Walters, Senior Pastor of The Vine in Atlanta says, “If you want to see anything wreck a movement of God, mismanage your money.”  Having a money management scandal blindside your church means more than just lost dollars.  It means that you’ve now got the massive task of rebuilding trust with your staff, your members, your donors, and your community.

To help you figure out where to start, the team at BELAY Solutions identified the biggest things they have seen when it comes to finance issues and what you can do to avoid them.

BELAY Solutions recently wrote some compelling thoughts on staffing and delegation. Here is what they said:

“Big ideas are the blueprints on which all successful organizations are built. They are necessary, vital, and their quality and character largely dictate one’s business outcomes. Just as every builder needs a blueprint to build a home, every entrepreneur needs a clearly defined vision to build their business.

But you can’t raise a family in a blueprint, and you can’t raise a business on ideas.

Even the most brilliant of ideas — and especially the most brilliant of ideas — require equally brilliant execution to yield real value. Without a team to bring your ideas to fruition, you run the risk of foundering before getting off the ground floor, or being forced to compromise on your vision.

This brings us to two of the most fundamental ingredients of execution: Staffing and delegation.

Big ideas require heavy lifting, and no one person can carry that weight alone. Finding the help necessary to bring your vision to life is an essential element of leadership. While traditional staffing can be costly and time-consuming, blended workforces have become an increasingly common way for organizations to scale safely.

Delegation is not only about distributing the workload, but also ensuring that the right person is assigned to the right task. You wouldn’t hire a plumber to fix your roof, so don’t rely on the “Swiss-Army knife” approach to entrepreneurship. Just because you *can* do something yourself doesn’t mean you *should*. By doing so you may be sacrificing time that could be better spent elsewhere, or quality and efficiency that could be achieved by using an expert.

As Thomas Edison once said, ‘Vision without execution is hallucination.’ And without a team to help execute your vision, success will also remain relegated to the imagination.
