Keep the bar low.  Have realistic expectations.  If you do that and are just looking for two hours of mindless escapist fun, Kong: Skull Island is for you.  This movie is nothing but big action, CGI and a lot of stuff getting destroyed.  This movie overall is not great and probably has a future on the SyFy Channel, not even TNT.  There was just one instance of foul language.  But if you have the right expectations, go see this and have a good time.

This movie is driven by star power – Tom Hiddleston (you can’t play Loki forever), Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson and John C. Reilly.  Based in 1973, the movie’s storyline is contained to Skull Island and New York City is not involved.  However, the narrative will be very familiar.
