10 Reasons Leaders Have No Patience For This

I love the picture shown above and its caption: “You’ll find a way, or you’ll find an excuse!”  As I looked at the image I determined 10 Reasons Leaders Have No Patience For This – EXCUSES!

1. Leaders have no patience for excuses because the conditions for success are rarely perfect.
2. Leaders have no patience for excuses because you can’t coach excuses.  You can only coach someone who wants to get better.
3. Leaders have no patience for excuses if you did not prepare for success.  In the picture above, someone had to personally arrive early and do the hard work of clearing the snow off the court.
4. Leaders have no patience for excuses because others made sacrifices you did not.
5. Leaders have no patience for excuses if you did not work hard on your craft.
6. Leaders have no patience for excuses if you lack the passion.
7. Leaders have no patience for excuses if you did not put in the lonely work – the work no one sees.  The lonely work leads to public success.
8. Leaders have no patience for excuses because they likely do not make excuses themselves.
9. Leaders have no patience for excuses because success is never easy.
10. Leaders have no patience for excuses because it is easy to make excuses.  Finding solutions is difficult and takes effort.

One final lesson from the picture above is the realization that people who make excuses can be found in large numbers.  They are everywhere.  On the other hand, people who find ways to get the job done are scarce.  They must be found one by one.
