Notes From Community Group Leaders Training

Today I trained a number of Community Group leaders at Fellowship Bible Church (www.fbconline.org).  Listed below is the outline I used.

The focal passage I used was Luke 5:27-32.

The Value of Jesus

1. Priorities – Jesus loved people.

2. Protects – Who is the most important person on Sunday?  Answer – The Visitor.

3. Propagation of His name and the gospel.

The Value of Others

1.  People come to your group looking for friends. They are no so much focused on doctrine.

The Value of Connection

1.  Must be Feasible.  Create a Luke 5 party atmosphere.

2. Must have Frequency.  Creat multiple touch points by different members of your group.

3. Must be done with Fervor. An effective small group is intentional when it comes to connecting with visitors.

The Value of You

1.  What’s your dream?  All God-inspired dreams include other people.

2.  Matthew’s Dream was:

a. going from greedy to generous.

b. going from taking money from people to investing in them.

c. going from being a problem to being a solution.

d. going from being rejected to being a resource.

e. living a life that traded the world’s wealth for that a wealth that could never be taken away.

Matthew achieved his dream.  The people visiting your groups are counting on you to achieve yours.
