Christians, Internet, And Porn

I’ve often said that talent can take you to places where your character cannot sustain you.  Today I was speaking with Shawn Smith, Speaker Ministry Coordinator, for Pure Life Ministries.  He gave me some alarming statistics about the state of Christian families in the United States.

  • 50% of Christian men are addicted to pornography.
  • 68% of divorces involve meeting another partner over the internet.
  • 20% of Christian women are addicted to porn.
  • 47% of families said pornography is a problem in their house.
  • 37% of pastors admit Internet pornography is a current struggle.

Shawn made an incredible statement – “The internet has changed everything.  Barriers of entry have been removed.”  Whether you are a Christian or not, the issue will devastate your influence and generational impact.

Pure Life Ministries is making a difference and helping people who struggle in this area.  If the statistics above describe you, click here and contact Pure Life.

Two questions – Do these statistics surprise you and why?  In a barrierless world, what barriers are you putting in place?
