Â
Some posts are cathartic. They are simply a mental download to clear your mind of things, a stream of consciousness if you will. I’m just going to share some things going through my head currently but I want to hear what is going through your’s as well.
- I love my wife and daughter.Â
- Children grow up fast.
- My owner, Joe Sangl, told me today I was what Seth Godin talks about in his book Linchpin. I immediately ordered it on Amazon.
- I am amazed at how affirmation and a kind word motivates me. Seth should send Joe a commission check.
- Why are so many people I know getting divorced?
- I have a friend named Ron whose parents were married over 70 years. That is the meaning of success.
- I hope my Honda Accord never dies.
- It’s wonderful working with friends.
- The older I get the more the Bible makes sense.
- Perry Noble’s blog is the most transparent and life-changing thing I am currently reading on the internet.
- The best book I’m currently reading is How The Mighty Fall by Jim Collins. Unbelievable and describes a lot of churches I know.
- Catalyst is next week. I can’t wait.
- I think the next generation of Christian leaders have more potential than my generation ever did.
- However, I will be glad when guys wearing skinny jeans goes out of style.
- I’m looking forward to the movie Courageous this weekend but I sure hope it’s not two hours of making me feel guilty.
- I read today that 70% of pastors constantly fight depression. 50% are so discouraged they want to leave the ministry. 80% believe that ministry negatively affects their family.
- I worry about blog stats too much.
- Christians (me included) sure can make church complicated.
- 104.7 The Fish plays a Chris Tomlin song at least every hour….and I couldn’t be happier! I sure needed “I Will Rise” last Friday afternoon driving home.
- To see a new song called Lay Me Down debuted by Chris at Passion City Church, click the video above. I was there. It was awesome! Chris, if you’re reading, when is it being released on Itunes?  Â
- I may start working from home some.
- Fast Company magazine and website stimulates my thinking.
- I don’t enjoy listening to people I disagree with. I just don’t. But I love listening to people talk about things I know absolutely nothing about.
- If someone is the best at what they do, I want to know why.
- I don’t like the new Facebook but I don’t think Mark Zuckerberg cares.
- I wish people in general spent more time and energy understanding people’s hearts than on picking apart their words.Â
- How is it that I can feel like the smartest man in the world but later in the same day feel like the dumbest? Have you ever been there?
- I don’t know why Jesus loves me (and you) so much, but I’m sure glad He does.
Well, that is my unfiltered stream of consciousness. That’s what going through my mind as a leader on a Tuesday. What’s going through your’s?
