6 Leadership Qutoes And Principles From New Denver Broncos Starting QB Tim Tebow

On Tuesday, Denver Broncos head coach John Fox named Tim Tebow the team’s starting quarterback.  This is a great decision for the following reasons:

  • Tim Tebow is a winner.
  • He brings positive energy to the team.
  • He makes good things happen on the football field.
  • His teammates believe in him.

Wouldn’t you like to have someone like Tim Tebow in your organization?  In an interview with Denver’s 9News Sports Anchor Drew Soicher, Tebow had the following statements after the announcement:

  • It’s a huge honor and it’s something I’m extremely humbled by and very thankful to be the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos.  It’s definitely a dream come true and something I’m humbled by.”
  • “They’ve been very supportive which has meant a lot to me…I really appreciate their support.” – Tebow on his teammates
  • I get nervous before every game I play.”
  • “I can only promise them one thing – that when I step on the field I will give everything I have.  I will give my entire heart and leave everything on the field every time I step on there.”
  • “I just do what I’m told and try to have a great attitude, show great effort, and continue to work hard everyday.”
  • “I’m going to give everything I have and that’s all that matters.  One game at a time.  One day at a time.”

Not only are Tebow’s teammates supportive of him, so is the team’s Executive VP of Football Operations John Elway who said the following in an interview with the NFL Network:

Tim adds a great spark for us…”I think one of the great things is Timmy’s got that work ethic to get better, and I think we’ve seen tremendous improvement.”

I would love to have Tim Tebow on my team.  We all know that he does not fit the traditional technical mold of the NFL quarterback.  However, his incredible character and leadership skills are not the norm either.

Tebow will be a very good player this year.  He will elevate the play of those around him.  He will not be overwhelmed by the moment.  Tebow will continue to improve as he sets the standard for hard work and preparation for the team.  His efforts will yield positive results.  I wonder if the same can be said about us at our jobs?

Tim Tebow is a great leader and he will be a very good quarterback.
