“That movie just gets better every time I see it.” – My daughter
We make trades every day. We choose to do one thing rather than another. We spend time with one person over another or one person over an activity. Today I made a very good trade.
Last week my daughter told me she wanted to see the movie Courageous again. I told her we would do it today. Like many teenagers, she stayed up too late at a sleepover last evening.  She was asked if she still wanted to go because she was probably very tired today. And if she wanted to stay home, that was going to be fine with me because the Georgia-Auburn game was this afternoon.
She couldn’t wait to go to movie!
I could have apologized and explained the benefits of not going but I needed to keep my word. Also, the movie is incredible and I really love our father-daughter dates. The decision was easy.Â
I admire Mark Richt, head coach of Georgia Bulldogs very much but I love my daughter. I’m a huge college football fan but I’m not trading any game for time with her.
And let tell of this after seeing this incredible movie a 2nd time and spending the afternoon with her, I made the right choice.Â
To all husbands and fathers, never trade anything for your family.
