The Answer To Every Leader’s Problems

Do you know what a Page Peel is?  If you look in the top right hand corner of this page, you will see the words “New Offer’ highlighted in red.  Hover your cursor over those words and the page will peel back providing you with a great opportunity.

It was very difficult getting this to work properly until I enlisted a person named Mark Asbell who helped make the changes a reality.  BTW, Mark has an incredible blog on money and finance and the impact it has on families.

In the November 15th edition of the USA Today, there is an interview with Craig Marks and Rob Tannenbaum who have written I Want MY MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution which chronicles the channel’s first 30 years.

In an interesting admission, Tannenbaum states, “Michael Jackson is the man who saved MTV…Jackson starts making videos for Thriller in 1982, and at that point, MTV is probably three bad months away from being shut down.”

Peyton Manning is the NFL’s MVP this season.  I’m not joking!  How is that possible since he hasn’t played a single down.  Consider the Colts regular season record for the last five years: 10-6, 14-2, 12-4, 13-3, and 12-4.  This year with Manning being injured, they are 0-10 and are not likely to win a game the remainder of the season.  No one is more valuable to their team.

In 2010, the San Francisco 49ers had a record of 6-10.  The team then hired Jim Harbaugh as their head coach.  The result – they are arguably the NFL’s most physical team and have a 2011 record of 8-1.

What does Mark Asbell, Michael Jackson, Peyton Manning, and Jim Harbaugh have in common?  What do they collectively teach us about leadership?

When a leader is faced with a challenge in their organization, the answer to every leader’s problem is A PERSON.

Some leader reading this post is wanting to get something done.  They are wanting a problem solved.  They are wanting to go to the next level.  They are wanting to see a need met.  They are wanting to see a breakthrough.  They want advancement.

If this describes you, either assign it to the right person already on your team or go get that individual!  This one decision will cause you to accomplish more than the years of workarounds that you have already invested and have caused you much frustration and lost opportunity.

Leaders, tell me about the great people on your teams who have caused significant advancement of your impact, mission, and vision.
