Great leaders orchestrate memorable events. One such event happened on Sunday evening, January 8th. On the first play of their play-off overtime game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow hit Demaryius Thomas for an 80-yard touchdown that will go down as one of the greatest plays in NFL history.
Our family along with a friend of my daughter has just attended the evening service of Passion City Church. We had stopped at Mexican restaurant on the way home to eat dinner. The placed was packed and everyone was glued to the 10-12 televisions spaced throughout the restaurant.
It was a highly partisan crowd for Denver…or primarily Tebow.
When Thomas caught the pass and scored the touchdown, the placed erupted! This Mexican restaurant located in Woodstock, GA had turned a sports bar.
I have several leadership thoughts from this experience:
- Tim Tebow is beloved across the country. This speaks to his influence.
- Tim Tebow is developing as a quarterback. This speaks to his continual improvement.
- Tim Tebow has talented people around him. This speaks to the importance of a team.
- Tim Tebow performs well under pressure. This speaks to his poise and preparation.
- Tim Tebow is winning over John Elway it appears. This speaks to his production.
- Tim Tebow deflects praise. This speaks to his humbleness as a leader.
- Tim Tebow is uniting people. This speaks to his ability to build a coalition and a network.
- Tim Tebow bounced back from three consecutive poor performances. This speaks to his resilience.
- Tim Tebow tebowed. This speaks to his gratefulness.
- Tim Tebow did something memorable. This speaks to his ability to leave a legacy.
I will never forget where I was when I saw Tim Tebow throw the pass that beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. Where were you and what were you thoughts when Tebow threw that pass?
