This past Thursday, I had the honor to meet Emmanuel “Manny” Ohonme, the Founder and CEO of Samaritan’s Feet. Manny is an AMAZING leader. Under his leadership, Samaritan’s Feet is not just a non-profit or a humanitarian aid organization. It is a community of more than 70,000 volunteers, which includes organizations like Buick, who have joined together to make a difference in the lives of children in need in every corner of the world. From a dream to the reality of an estimated 3.5 million impoverished children and adults in over 60 nations being served by having their feet washed, receiving a new pair of shoes, and hearing a message of hope.
Samaritan’s Feet and its team of global ambassadors have touched the lives of men, women, and children across the United States and around the world in an effort help the nearly 300 million people who go without shoes each day, and the more than a million who die (Dying without Shoes) each year as a result. Through this simple act humility and servant-leadership, our team members and volunteers are the expressing love, compassion, and a message that brings hope.
If we want to change the world we must first start with the heart, and the heart of Samaritan’s Feet is hard at work in neighborhoods, schools, businesses, churches, gyms, villages, tents, and fields of this world.
Watch the videos to see the leaders of Buick, members of the Carolina Panthers, and NCAA Final Four joining Manny in his work.
I plead with all pastors, church leaders, non-profits, and leaders in the athletic, entertainment, and business communities to watch the two videos on this site. Then go to www.SamaritansFeet.org to see how your organization can get involved in serving the poor and under-resourced while also providing hope in your local communities and around the globe.
