The closing session at the Orange Conference was conducted by Perry Noble, the incomparable founding and senior pastor of NewSpring Church.  The following are 46 leadership quotes I captured during Perry’s unbelievable session:

1. I know in a lot of churches we’re fake. But that’s OK because we’ve been trained to be fake.
2. I’ve been hung over a time or two in my life. Before I met Christ that was the thing to do on the weekend.
3. Every Monday we have a holy hangover.
4. Delayed obedience is disobedience.
5. He’s master of the universe. He’s the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
6. Religion kills. Relationships give life.
7. If I’ve got nothing to hold onto on Monday, the Lord is my shepherd.
8. I love Christians but can we admit God’s got some crazy children?
9. If the Lord is your shepherd, you lack nothing.
10. We started with 15 people in a living room. We were so broke we went to Kentucky Fried Chicken to lick other people’s fingers.
11. If the Lord is your shepherd you have everything you need right now to make your ministry successful.
12. The vessels for the miracles are in the house.
13. If you can be thankful for managing the $500 budget, God will never give you the $5 million budget.
14. You say, “I like the whole Bible.” You haven’t read it.
15. We will not create great environments unless we experience great environments ourselves.
16. The reason we need to put our phone down is because it is amazing what God can do it that time.
17. When your mind takes a break, you can have a breakthrough thought.
18. The thing we’ve got to do as ministry leaders is stop apologizing for having fun.
19. If you don’t go to a counselor it’s because you’re scared he’s going to tell you something you know is true.
20. “It must be nice buying a boat.” It is.
21. I’m addicted to noise.
22. Psalms doesn’t say be busy and know that I am God.
23. The reason we don’t hear from God is we don’t find our green pastures and still waters.
24. You can die today and the world will go on tomorrow.
25. The world needs you but it needs a healthy version of you.
26. I need my soul refreshed on Monday because I preached on Sunday.
27. I tried a marathon once. It was stupid.
28. When we get dehydrated spiritually we will start using people instead of leading them.
29. Everybody wants their soul refreshed.
30. Highly emotional people do not make rational decisions.
31. When we get tired spiritually, we’ll stop doing what is right and start doing what is easy.
32. When our soul is refreshed, He gives us direction.
33. Nobody names their mascot The Fighting Sheep.
34. I can’t stop watching tv preachers. It’s like watching Christian porn. I’m completed addicted!
35. We don’t get a resurrection without a crucifixion.
36. When we begin to see the greatness we become fearless in our decisions.
37. I believe in gun control. I have a gun and will control anyone who tries to rob me.
38. When you have someone with you who can handle business you don’t fear what is in front of you.
39. If He brought you to it, He will take you through it.
40. If you’re doing anything significant for God, you will always have critics. They’re never going away.
41. At the end of the day, the talkers don’t matter.
42. One of the number things church leaders deal with is confidence.
43. I struggle with confidence as much as anyone in this room.
44. If goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our life then why can’t it be the best is yet to come?
45. I’m a guy that does not have it all together.
46. But the one thing I know is the Lord is my shepherd and because of that, I lack nothing.
