“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior…” -1 Timothy 2:1-3
On Friday, January 20th Donald Trump was sworn in as our nation’s 45th president. As part of the festivities, Senate Chaplain Barry Black delivered an invocation/blessing prior to the Statuary Hall luncheon. See the video above.
Selected to the position in June 2003, Chaplain Black provided a wonderful template for how to pray for our current and future presidents. The following are 19 Ways You Should Pray For President Donald Trump. First is the principle followed by the chaplain’s words.
If President Trump is successful, we will live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. I know this is the type of life I want.
- Pray President Trump Has Courage – “We praise You that we have nothing to fear.”
- Pray For A Peaceful Transition – “We can stand without fear during the season of peaceful transition because we know Your providence will prevail.”
- Pray Knowing God’s Providence Will Come To Pass – “Your providence has brought President Donald J. Trump to this milestone moment.”

- And Pray All Of This In Jesus Name – “In Your sovereign name. Amen”
As we are taught in the verses from 1 Timothy written above, we are to pray for our leaders. I want President Trump to be the most successful president in our country’s history. Once again, if for no other reason, I am praying to that end because I want to “live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.”
