Too many leaders I work with confuse activity with accomplishment. Christian leaders are especially adept at convincing communication. As a leader you must be at cutting through the fluff and look at results.
But for there to be quality results, you need quality execution.
If you are a regular reader of this site, then you know the value my friends at BELAY Solutions provide leaders. Led by c0-founders Bryan and Shannon Miles, this organization is becoming one of America’s leading companies.

“Ideas are easy. Execution is everything. It takes a team to win.” – John Doerr, Venture Capitalist at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers
Big ideas are the blueprints on which all successful organizations are built. They are necessary, vital, and their quality and character largely dictate one’s business outcomes. Just as every builder needs a blueprint to build a home, every entrepreneur needs a clearly defined vision to build their business.
But you can’t raise a family in a blueprint, and you can’t raise a business on ideas.
Even the most brilliant of ideas — and especially the most brilliant of ideas — require equally brilliant execution to yield real value. Without a team to bring your ideas to fruition, you run the risk of foundering before getting off the ground floor, or being forced to compromise on your vision.
This brings us to two of the most fundamental ingredients of execution: Staffing and delegation.
Staffing
Big ideas require heavy lifting, and no one person can carry that weight alone. Finding the help necessary to bring your vision to life is an essential element of leadership. While traditional staffing can be costly and time-consuming, blended workforces have become an increasingly common way for organizations to scale safely.
Delegation
Delegation is not only about distributing the workload, but also ensuring that the right person is assigned to the right task. You wouldn’t hire a plumber to fix your roof, so don’t rely on the “Swiss-Army knife” approach to entrepreneurship. Just because you *can* do something yourself doesn’t mean you *should*. By doing so you may be sacrificing time that could be better spent elsewhere, or quality and efficiency that could be achieved by using an expert.
As Thomas Edison once said, “Vision without execution is hallucination.” And without a team to help execute your vision, success will also remain relegated to the imagination.
