Tonight, I caught the initial showing of Solo: A Star Wars Story. This movie is an origin film and just pure fun. Viewers will get to discover how Hans Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, becomes the legendary Harrison Ford character.
People who just want a break from life, a lot of action, big sound, huge special effects, and enjoy two hours of pure fun will have a GREAT time! The movie centers around Solo and a band of fellow bandits smuggling an invaluable resource known as Hyperfuel. What ensues are chase scenes, prison breakouts, train heists, and multiple surprises.
Solo is a reminder you can make a great movie with no language, sex or nudity. Feel free to take your whole family.
The following are 13 Leadership Quotes And Lessons From Solo: A Star Wars Story:
- People Attend Predictable Environments – This is a Disney and Star Wars movie. You know what you will get for your investment of $13 and it will be more than worth it. So you come and also bring a friend. There is something here for churches to learn from.
- Everything Rises And Falls On Leadership – If you want a successful organization, hire the right leader. If you have a problem that needs solving, hire the right leader. The movie’s producers had to switch directors midway through filming. While this would sink most productions, they hired Ron Howard. Howard, one of Hollywood’s most talented and respected filmmakers, created an incredible movie.
- Great Leaders Dream Great Dreams – Solo proudly proclaimed, “I’m gonna be a pilot… best in the galaxy.”
- Start With Your Why – Val, played by Thandie Newton, asked Solo, “Your after something. Is it revenge? Money? Or is it something else?”

- Leaders Are Known By Their Works – Solo asked Lando Calrissian, played by Donald Glover, “I heard a story about you. I was wondering if it’s true.” Lando replied, “Everything you’ve heard about me is true.”
- Trustworthy People Trust People – Tobias Beckett, played by Woody Harrelson, had a false view of life. He said, “Let me give you some advice. Assume everyone will betray you. And you will never be disappointed.”
- Qi’Ra, played by Emilia Clarke, told Solo, “Everyone serves someone.”
- Experienced Leaders Are Valuable Leaders – Solo asked Chewie, “Since when do you know how to fly?” After Chewie gave his answer, Solo responded, “190 years old! You look great!”
- Great Leaders Call For Great Commitment – Beckett told Solo and Chewy, “If you come with us, you’re in this life for good.”
- Leaders With High Character Are Lasting Leaders – Qi’Ra told Solo, “I’m the only one galaxy who knows who you are. You are the good guy.”
- Qi-Ra advised Solo, “I don’t know everything. Just a bit more than you.”
- Whether It Is Spiritual Life Or Human Life, The Life Is In The Blood – One of the rebellion leaders told Solo, “It’s the blood that brings life to something new – the rebellion.”
