This is Father’s Day weekend – my favorite time of the year. I absolutely love being a dad. Therefore, I’m spending the day with my family.
However, I want you to have a little fun until my next serious leadership post. Check out this video from the incredible Christian comedian John Crist. The following are 19 Ways Christians Can Say “No” And Stay Out Of Trouble. I have heard several of these over the course of my life.
- “I don’t think it’s God will.”
- “It’s just not His timing.”
- “I’m feeling led in a different direction.”
- “Let me talk to my pastor about that.”
- “It’s a closed door.”
- “I’m waiting on the Lord right now.”
- “I just don’t feel peace about it right now.”
- “God has a different assignment for me.”
- “I don’t feel prompted.”
- “I just don’t feel like that’s something Jesus would do.”
- “I’m not in that season anymore.”
- “God is telling me to rest right now.”
- “I just got a sense it didn’t line up.”
- “I’m in a season on new wineskins.”
- “I just feel right now I’m in a season of creating margin and I just don’t have the bandwidth.”
- “Prompting. How many times do I have to tell you? I’m not feeling the prompting.”
- “I’m just not feeling the Spirit’s leading on this one.”
- “I’m not sure. Let me lay out a fleece on that one.”
- “Let me pray about it.” The all-time favorite.
