On Sunday, September 16th the iconic senior pastor of First Baptist Church Woodstock (Ga) Johnny Hunt announced the church’s new senior pastor will be Jeremy Morton. After being personally discipled by Pastor Johnny for three years, the 36-year-old Morton is the perfect selection to succeed him.
Before going any further, Pastor Johnny has faithfully served the city I live in for 30 years. He has been and is the spiritual leader of our city for the entire time. One of the reasons I feel God has so blessed the city of Woodstock is because Pastor Johnny has been its most prominent pastor and prophetic voice. Thank you my friend. It has been an honor to live in a city under your spiritual leadership. Well done.
Tonight, I attended a special event put on at the church by Real Momentum entitled “Man Church”. Led by Keith Boggs, this ministry offers tailored men’s ministry coaching, local church events and strategic mission partnerships. Bottom line, they help churches develop an effective disciple-making for men. I love this organization.
Pastor Johnny was tonight’s speaker. He spoke on 10 Characteristics Of Those Who Finish Well. The following are his thoughts with the 10 Characteristics in bold:

- Men are the untapped reservoir of useful energy for the Kingdom of God.
- There is no such thing as God building a great work on a campus without Godly men.
- When a woman comes to faith in Christ, 17% of the time the husband and children then come to Christ. When a man comes to Christ first, 85% of the time the wife and children follow suit.
- Your son will go to hell with you if you head in that direction.
- One day this beggar will die but until then I’ll keep begging to (financially) support God’s work.

- “Can you believe they did that?” Yes I can.

- At the same time, the thought of failing Jesus was almost a foreign thought.
- The people in our City Of Refuge all committed unintentional sin. Now they take responsibility for it but it was unintentional sin.

- God will not only save you. God will save you wherever you are.
- You’re either saved or you need to be.
