This weekend, I provided a series of posts from my annual visit to Johnny Hunt’s Mens Conference in Woodstock, GA. This year’s theme is Renovate 2020. Over 4,000 men were live in attendance with another 25,000 attending via simulcast around the world.

The event concluded with Pastor Johnny sharing on the subject of The Characteristics Of A Growing Life. The following are 69 leadership quotes and lessons from his incredibly challenging and inspirational session:
- You will be remembered by how you finish.
- What is missing, even in our churches, is people being kind.
- Make sure the people who serves here are consistently in worship.
- You can’t serve without the Lord Jesus resource you and fill you with His spirit.
- Most pastors will fly 1,000 miles to hear a sermon but won’t go across the street to hear one.
- When you vote against the pastor’s initiatives you are short-sighted. The pastor was given the vision, he can see further and you can’t. Some people aren’t just short-sighted, they’re blind.
- I’ve never gotten over getting saved. You would be hard-pressed to find someone in this church who doesn’t know the date I got saved. They’ve heard it a million times.
- Practical Christianity requires cooperation with God and the application of spiritual discipline and diligence.
- The foundation of our personal relationship with Jesus Christ is based upon faith – an initial acceptance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Spiritual growth is not automatic. It is not lazy river Christianity.
- When we give our absolute best, there is always room for future development.
- When I think of Calvary, is my Master satisfied with me? His satisfaction with me is through His Son.
- What a privilege to be a child of God. What a responsibility to be obedient to God the Father.

- Biblical preaching is just showing people where they really are.
- Moderation is not the answer to alcoholism. Moderation is the cause of alcoholism.
- People want to know how close they can sleep to hell and still get to Heaven.
- Looking at a naked picture will affect the way you look at your wife.
