This is the best of America.
Hundreds gathered at a hospital in Georgia to worship.
Doctors and nurses were on the roof as others prayed down below.

Dr. Mark Salsberry is a Sunday School teacher and small group leader at Piedmont Church in Marietta, GA. His is also the Medical Director over approximately 18 clinics in the WellStar Health Systems, one of America’s largest healthcare systems. This morning he participated in a Zoom interview with pastor Ike Reighard as part of the church’s Palm Sunday services.
When asked what was on the minds of most healthcare providers right now and how we could best pray for our first responders and medical professionals during COVID-19 crisis, Dr. Salsberry offered the following:
- “They stay healthy. We are going to be exposed to this virus more so than by normal means. We do feel comfortable with the level of gear and that they can adequately protect ourselves. The in-hospital employees are the ones on the front edge. They’re the ones caring for people on ventilators. Those are the people most at-risk.”
- “All of us healthcare providers are concerned about potentially bringing this disease home to our family, our friends, our loved ones.”
- “It is mentally taxing to care for patients who are so sick and in such large numbers. For examples, right now at Kennestone Hospital they have three-times the number of patients in ICU units as they do on any normal type of day.”
Dr. Crawford Loritts, in his wonderful message this morning at Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, GA, added the following 5 applications of a prayer God hears from Psalm 23 which you can listen to HERE:
- Our prayers will be no bigger than our view of God.
- God wants to accomplish His will in and through us.
- God wants to provide for us.
- God wants us to live in the freedom of His forgiveness.
- God wants us to experience His protection.
To best serve our healthcare providers, let us pray for God to protect their physical health, mental health, and the health of their families. We are so thankful for these modern-day heroes. They are a gift and blessing to all of us. We are also thankful for a BIG God who hears the prayers of His children and wants to meet our needs.
