What Makes A Great Leader?

A great leader rises early.

A great leader starts each day on their knees thanking God for another opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.

A great leader is a servant leader.

A great leader is a humble leader.

A great leader prays for their family and kisses them goodbye.

A great leader values margin so they arrive early at their area of responsibility.

A great leader is diligent and has a plan for the day.

A great leader joyfully welcomes their arriving team.

A great leader cares about their team so they discuss what is happening in their lives.

A great leader does not commit HR violations.

A great leader is trustworthy.

A great leader makes everyone in their sphere of influence better.

A great leader proactively inspires, instructs and coaches their team.

A great leader holds others accountable but is also incredibly forgiving and merciful.

A great leader is a reader.  FYI, the Bible is the greatest leadership book every written.

A great leader understands the needs of their internal and external customers.

A great leader provides solutions.

A great leader gives customers and employees more than is expected.

A great leader is extravagantly generous.

A great leader lifts others up.

A great leader continually improves.

A great leader does more than think outside the box.  A great leader creates a second box.

A great leader produces great results.

A great leader gives all the credit to God and others.

A great leader is resilient and learns from failure.

A great leader values great character more than great results.

A great leader builds a great culture.

A great leader leaves work with something still left in the tank.

A great leader puts God first, family second and career third.

A great leader’s most important meetings of the day are when they go home to their spouse and children.

A great leader stewards time well.

A great leader takes care of their health.

A great leader is thankful for everything God has done in their life.

A great leader goes to bed early.  You may think you do not need eight hours of sleep but trust me, your team needs for you to get eight hours of sleep.

A great leader does not quit.  The next day they come back and do it all over again.

As a result, a great leader leaves a great legacy.
