  • How does your leadership team handle conflict? As all churches face conflict at some point, the how in this question speaks to the team’s emotional intelligence and overall health.
  • What does success look like in your church? Knowing how the church measures success will help determine if their metrics align with your personal and professional values.
  • How will I be supported? Enquiring about the church’s resources, potential mentorships and accountability structures helps establish how you will be set up for success in your new ministry.

The answers to these critical questions should directly influence your decision to join a particular church staff. Invest the time to carefully craft these thoughtful questions and listen actively to the leadership team’s responses.
