title=\"Leadership Summit\" href=\"http:\/\/www.willowcreek.com\/events\/leadership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit<\/a>. \u00a0I am extremely grateful to\u00a0<a title=\"The Rocket Company\" href=\"https:\/\/kb951.infusionsoft.com\/go\/trcHome\/bdodd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">The Rocket Company<\/a>\u00a0for allowing me to\u00a0attend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Bach<\/strong> – Interview by Nancy Beach, Bach advises Hollywood on how to reach the faith community. \u00a0Here are his comments:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>We’ve gone from them seeing us a pariah to them seeing us as a market.<\/li>\n<li>We are showing up to theaters.<\/li>\n<li>Hollywood is an industry that tries to catch lightening in a bottle twice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Senior Pastor Oscar Muriu of the Nairobi Chapel<\/strong> in Kenya was the afternoon’s first speaker. \u00a0Nairobi Chapel averages 14,000 in weekly attendance. \u00a0The following were some of the top leadership quotes from his session:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>My personal leadership capacity was not going to keep up with such growth. – When the church was running 800.<\/li>\n<li>The size of your harvest depends on how many leaders you have…The problem is not with the harvest. \u00a0The harvest is plentiful. \u00a0The problem is with the harvesters.<\/li>\n<li>Jesus’s strategy was to first find his leaders, invest in them, and then focus on the harvest.<\/li>\n<li>If you don’t have leaders around you, the reach of your leadership will be the size of your personal capacity.<\/li>\n<li>One of the signs of great leadership is the amount of leaders you raise up and continue your work after you’re gone.<\/li>\n<li>The impact of your life will not depend on how hard you worked. \u00a0But rather, how many leaders you raised up.<\/li>\n<li>When you live for your own generation, you will grow up with your own generation and die with your own generation. \u00a0And your vision will die as well…Live for the next generation.<\/li>\n<li>Are the people I’m investing in are at least 20 years younger than me?<\/li>\n<li>Every leader on staff must surround themselves with 5 young people they are pouring their life into for at least one year.<\/li>\n<li>Some of your best leaders are right under your nose but you can’t see them.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying the budding leaders around you and dedicate them to the Lord in prayer.<\/li>\n<li>Instill the five loves into your budding leaders. \u00a0Love the Lord your God with all your heart (character), mind (comprehension), soul (convictions), and strength (competence) and love your neighbor as yourself (compassion).<\/li>\n<li>Never do ministry alone. \u00a0Always have budding leaders around you.<\/li>\n<li>Never be alone. \u00a0To be alone is a way to waste an opportunity with a young leader.<\/li>\n<li>The more harvesters you have the larger your harvest will be.<\/li>\n<li>We don’t have many resources but we innovate and innovate and innovate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>The afternoon’s first session was concluded by the wonderful <a title=\"Dr. Henry Cloud\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/drhenrycloud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Dr. Henry Cloud<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0Dr. Cloud is a Summit regular and did not charge.<\/li>\n<li>Leaders don’t blame. \u00a0Leaders take the stewardship God has given and they exert energy in that space to lead people.<\/li>\n<li>The hardest thing a leader has to be in charge of is him or herself.<\/li>\n<li>Leaders who succeed in hard times think, feel, and see differently than those who do not.<\/li>\n<li>If you have a chose between those who can but think they can’t and those who can’t but think they can, choose those who think they can every time.<\/li>\n<li>The #1 factor in success is do you think it can happen.<\/li>\n<li>Learned Helplessness you are designed by God to be in a cause and effect universe. \u00a0Until you find yourself in a circumstance where you are facing things you do not control.<\/li>\n<li>When facing circumstances out of your control, your brain interprets it personally. \u00a0What have I’ve done wrong?<\/li>\n<li>When facing circumstances our of your control, your brain interprets it pervasively. \u00a0Everything becomes bad.<\/li>\n<li>The third “P” is permanent. \u00a0It’s always going to be this way.<\/li>\n<li>Science and the Bible always agree in a place called the reality. \u00a0And if they don’t agree you have bad science or wacky Christians and there’s no shortage of either.<\/li>\n<li>Log them and dispute them. \u00a0Write down the negative thoughts. \u00a099% will be false…Dispute it with God’s word.<\/li>\n<li>There is a difference between your brain and mind. \u00a0Your brain is an organ subject to chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>Your life is a movie. \u00a0It’s not a scene. \u00a0Every great movie has crisis scenes. \u00a0It’s the brains that see it as a great movie that win.<\/li>\n<li>Create two columns. \u00a0What you can control and what you can’t control. \u00a0The people that are thriving have a list of things they CAN do.<\/li>\n<li>Your brain needs fuel. \u00a0Your brain runs on oxygen, glucose, and relationship. \u00a0You need to connect.<\/li>\n<li>The opposite of bad is not good. \u00a0The opposite of bad is love.<\/li>\n<li>Just by putting the monkey’s buddy in the cage with him, the stress letter drops by 50%.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a
