{"id":1461,"date":"2010-08-29T00:02:14","date_gmt":"2010-08-29T00:02:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briandoddonleadership.com\/?p=1461"},"modified":"2010-08-29T00:02:14","modified_gmt":"2010-08-29T00:02:14","slug":"leadership-styles-of-the-nfls-top-10-coaches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briandoddonleadership.com\/2010\/08\/29\/leadership-styles-of-the-nfls-top-10-coaches\/","title":{"rendered":"Leadership Styles Of The NFL&#8217;s Top 10 Coaches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.sportssoundoff.net\/zone\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/bill-belichick.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In this week&#8217;s <a title=\"The Sporting News\" href=\"www.sportingnews.com\/\" target=\"_self\">Sporting News<\/a>, there is an interesting article from the magazine&#8217;s staff and editors\u00c2\u00a0determining who\u00c2\u00a0are the <a title=\"NFL\" href=\"www.nfl.com\" target=\"_self\">NFL&#8217;s<\/a> best coaches<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 Each of the current\u00c2\u00a032 NFL coaches were graded in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Championships<\/li>\n<li>Won-Lost Records<\/li>\n<li>Creativity<\/li>\n<li>Motivational Skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to Limit Turnovers\/Penalties<\/li>\n<li>Hiring and Maintaining a Quality Staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Using those six categories\u00c2\u00a0as a barometer, the following are the Top 10 NFL Head Coaches as determined by The Sporting News as well as what makes their leadership\u00c2\u00a0distinctive:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Bill Belichick, <a title=\"New England Patriots\" href=\"www.patriots.com\" target=\"_self\">New England Patriots<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Work ethic and preparation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sean Payton, <a title=\"New Orleans Saints\" href=\"www.neworleanssaints.com\" target=\"_self\">New Orleans Saints<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Disciplined, fair, but also very fun.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jeff Fisher, <a title=\"Tennessee Titans\" href=\"www.titansonline.com\" target=\"_self\">Tennessee Titans<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Cares about his players.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mike Shanahan, <a title=\"Washington Redskins\" href=\"www.redskins.com\/\" target=\"_self\">Washington Redskins<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Treats them like men.\u00c2\u00a0 Albert Haynesworth, are you listening?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mike Tomlin, <a title=\"Pittsburgh Steelers\" href=\"www.steelers.com\" target=\"_self\">Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a><\/strong><a title=\"Pittsburgh Steelers\" href=\"www.steelers.com\" target=\"_self\"> <\/a>&#8211; Changed some of his coaching style\u00c2\u00a0to become more\u00c2\u00a0successful.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Andy Reid, <a title=\"Philadelphia Eagles\" href=\"www.philadelphiaeagles.com\" target=\"_self\">Philadelphia Eagles<\/a><\/strong><a title=\"Philadelphia Eagles\" href=\"www.philadelphiaeagles.com\" target=\"_self\"> <\/a>&#8211; Just keeps winning and having success.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tom Coughlin, <a title=\"New York Giants\" href=\"www.giants.com\" target=\"_self\">New York Giants<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; He&#8217;s won a Super Bowl so he&#8217;s on the list.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ken Whisenhunt, <a title=\"Arizona Cardinals\" href=\"www.azcardinals.com\" target=\"_self\">Arizona Cardinals<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Brings attitude and discipline.<\/li>\n<li><strong>John Harbaugh, <a title=\"Baltimore Ravens\" href=\"www.baltimoreravens.com\/\" target=\"_self\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; 2 Seasons as a Head Coach.\u00c2\u00a0 2 Play-offs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rex Ryan, <a title=\"New York Jets\" href=\"www.newyorkjets.com\/ \" target=\"_self\">New York Jets<\/a><\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0&#8211;
