told they are pretty.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>A friend\u00c2\u00a0once told me that when I asked him why he kept playing golf with a competitive company.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here is what he knew, <strong>there is incredible\u00c2\u00a0power\u00c2\u00a0in a compliment<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 In a positive sense, it can\u00c2\u00a0make people accomplish more than they ever\u00c2\u00a0dreamed possible.\u00c2\u00a0 In a negative sense, it can make people do destructive things such as leaving their families for\u00c2\u00a0lesser alternatives and damaging\u00c2\u00a0future\u00c2\u00a0generations.<\/p>\n<p>I got some very nice compliments a person I respect today.\u00c2\u00a0 Here is are some truths about compliments that I was reminded of:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Compliments <strong>validate<\/strong> your efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments mean more coming from some people than others, especially those who are <strong>selective with praise<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments should be <strong>specific<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments should <strong>never come rarely<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments are a sign of <strong>generosity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments\u00c2\u00a0are <strong>motivating<\/strong> and can sustain high performance.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments make me <strong>temporarily forget <\/strong>any pain and frustration I&#8217;m feeling.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments should never be used as <strong>manipulation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments are extremely well received when <strong>given publicly<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Compliments are <strong>desperately needed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Husbands, a word of warning for you<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t compliment your wife, someone else with less than pure motives will.\u00c2\u00a0 Remember, everyone wants to be told they are pretty.<\/p>\n<p>Leaders, have you given your team members the
