<strong>New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft in the February 6th edition of <a title=\"Sports Illustrated\" href=\"http:\/\/sportsillustrated.cnn.com \" target=\"_blank\">Sports Illustrated<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Normal is overrated<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 8-8 football teams are not memorable.\u00c2\u00a0 Average is not what it is\u00c2\u00a0cracked up to be.\u00c2\u00a0 The majority of people are average.\u00c2\u00a0 There is nothing wrong with that.\u00c2\u00a0 You simply do not need to settle for it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>I think there is greatness in everyone<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 The key is figuring out how to pull that out of people.\u00c2\u00a0 The key is figuring out how to pull it out of yourself.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Bob Kraft gives us some keys to breaking out of average and into greatness in our leadership<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 Let&#8217;s look at the factors that Mr. Kraft says is necessary to achieve greatness.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>See Things Other People Can&#8217;t See<\/strong> &#8211; Do not be insubordinate to authority or disrespect those older than you\u00c2\u00a0but look\u00c2\u00a0at things through a different \u00c2\u00a0lens.\u00c2\u00a0 Someone\u00c2\u00a0was the first\u00c2\u00a0to say, &#8220;I think man can fly.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 Someone was the first to say, &#8220;Hey, I think the world is round.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 Someone said, &#8220;I wonder what chocolate and peanut butter would taste like put together.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 You get the point.\u00c2\u00a0 Here are some things I&#8217;m trying to think about differently:<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">What if we brought small groups back on church campuses on Sunday mornings?<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Why can&#8217;t a staff member be chairman of the elders?<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Why doesn&#8217;t every church in America have\u00c2\u00a0on-line giving and a\u00c2\u00a0giving kiosk in their lobby?<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">I think mission and vision statements are becoming outdated in churches.\u00c2\u00a0 They build parameters that help you say &#8220;No&#8221; to things.\u00c2\u00a0 But our mission is loving Jesus, worshipping Jesus, experiencing Jesus, loving others, and social justice.\u00c2\u00a0 To institutionalize these principles\u00c2\u00a0is no longer effective and an unnecessary mental exercise that accomplishes nothing.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Be Bold<\/strong> &#8211; Achieving greatness requires courageous leadership and a willingness to step out of the herd.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Take Criticism<\/strong> &#8211; The natural default mode of the human experience is a non-confrontational, homogeneous, non-descrip existence.\u00c2\u00a0 As Mr. Kraft stated, the NFL is setup to create a league of 8-8 teams.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0We appreciate and admire excellence.\u00c2\u00a0 We simply just do not like it sometimes.\u00c2\u00a0 As a result, we criticize it.\u00c2\u00a0 Great leaders know how to properly evaluate criticism.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Believe You Are Right<\/strong> &#8211;
