Today is Day 2 of my conference experience this week. I will actually be having an Inception moment. Representing The Rocket Company, I am sitting at the Orange Conference and will be sharing insights from the morning session of Exponential. - You cannot teach what you do not know. You cannot lead where you will not go.
- A leader never stops being a follower of Jesus.
- Being a leader doesn’t mean we get to point the way. As leaders, we lead the way.
- You don’t just get to be a leader and rest.
- If you are a leader, you must be more radical now. Not less.
- A leader must have current stories. Not old ones.
- A leader who is a disciple looks as Jesus looked.
- Leaders who follow Jesus need to embody holiness. Not moralism.
- Jesus’s style of leadership was humble and servant-like.
- All truth equals subjective change…If something is true, it must change you.
- We teach with our lives.
- One of the problems with discipleship is you can’t hide…You have to be a Godly person.
- Natural temperament always has a dark side because it participates in your idols.
- Unless you’re really a Godly person, discipleship will not work because people aren’t going to believe you.
- You can’t them where you are not yourself.
