The critics routinely slammed Glass.  I completely enjoyed it.  As you are aware, Glass is the final part of M. Night Shyamalan’s trilogy 19 years in the making.

David Dunn, played by Bruce Willis, has captured Kendall Wendell Crumb, a.k.a. The Horde, played by James McAvoy.  Before I continue, if McAvoy does not win Best Actor for Split, it is a crime.  Back to the story.  They are taken to a psychiatric hospital where they are reunited with Elijah Price, a.k.a. Mr. Glass, played by Samuel L. Jackson.

What ensues is the trio’s plan to escape and have a climatic good vs. evil battle in front of a large audience.

This movie is actually crazy!  Multiple twists.  A-list actors and actresses delivering top-notch performance.  They did a wonderful job linking in the two previous movies.  You stay linked in the whole time because you know Glass is going somewhere.  One needless GD.  The beast is very violent and demon-possessed.  But I completely enjoyed this film.

The following are 14 Leadership Quotes And Lessons From Glass The Movie:

  1. Smart Leaders Gather All The Information Before Making Decisions – As mentioned above, the reviews for this movie are subpar.  However, I was a big fan of the first two films and wanted to make up my own mind.
  2. Parents Place Their Children On Trajectories Of Success Or Failure – We all have daddy issues.  Each of the three main characters struggled with traumatic childhood events which dramatically affected their adult lives.
  3. Many Leaders Struggle With Pride, Hubris And Delusions Of Grandeur – Dr. Ellie Staple, played by Sarah Poulson, said, “My name is Dr. Ellie Staple, and I’m a psychiatrist.  My work concerns a particular type of delusion of grandeur.  It’s a growing field.  I specialize in those individuals who believe they are superheroes.”
  4. Great Parents Give Their Children Great Self-Confidence – Elijah’s mother, played by Charlayne Woodard, said, “Stay proud.”
  5. Great Leaders Are Often Initially Underestimated – Elijah’s mother said, “They always underestimate the mastermind.”
  6. Great Communicators Are Clear And Concise In Their Language – When asked what his name was, Elijah said, “First name: Mister. Last name: Glass.”
  7. Elijah said, “Everything extraordinary is easily explained away and yet, it is true.”
  8. Successful Leaders Properly Evaluate Reality – Elijah continued, “This is not a cartoon.  This is the real world.”
  9. “You don’t know what it’s like to be so different you don’t know where you fit.”
  10. Successful Leaders Build Strategic Alliances And Partnerships – Elijah told the beast, “This sounds like the bad guys teaming up.”
  11. Every Human Is Birthed With A Purpose Given To Them By God To Bring Him Glory And Them A Life Of Purpose And Meaning – Elijah said, “I wasn’t a mistake.”  To which his mother replied, “No.  You’re spectacular.”
  12. Elijah concluded, “Belief in one’s self is contagious.”
  13. Many People Confuse The Finish Line With The Starting Line – Often we think an event in our life is the climatic story when in fact, it is the beginning of something.  It is an origin story.
  14. Your Brain Is Your Greatest Super-Weapon – A hospital employee tells Dr. Staple, “He’s (Elijah) too smart. He gets everyone looking in the wrong direction. That’s why he’s the mastermind.”

Also, I do not want you to sit around needlessly.  There are no post-credit scenes.  Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed Glass. If you like this genre, I think you will as well.
