Captain Marvel is outstanding!!!  This origin story centers around Carol Danvers (Vers), played by Brie Larson, and her role as a member of the Krees and their war with the shape-shifting Skrulls.  After escaping from their capture, Vers crashes on planet C-53 (a.k.a. Earth) in the mid-1990s.

Danvers immediately connects with agent Nick Fury, played of course by Samuel L. Jackson.  What follows is a tale of self-discovery and the rescue of an alien race.

You can take the entire family to see this movie.  There is no language or even a hint of anything sexual.  Once again, we are reminded these are not needed to make a quality movie.

The following are 18 Leadership Quotes And Lessons From Captain Marvel The Movie:

  1. We Give Glory To God And Show Honor To Those Who Deserve It – The movie did an outstanding job honoring the late Stan Lee at the beginning of the movie.  Very classy and a nice touch.
  2. The Only Difference Between Anger And Danger Is A “D” – Yon-Rogg, played by Jude Law, told Danvers, “There is nothing more dangerous for a warrior than emotion. Humor is a distraction. Anger only serves the enemy.”
  3. Great Leaders Bring Out The Best In Others – Rogg also added, “Center your impulses.  I want to be the best version of yourself.”
  4. Great Leaders Have Great Self-Control – Rogg continued, “Control your impulses.”
  5. Danger Often Comes Silently And Without Warning – The Supreme Intelligence, played by Annette Benning, said, “You are just one victim of the Skrull invasion that has threatened our civilization for centuries.  Impostors who silently infiltrate, then take over on planets.”
  6. Leaders Must Always Be Willing To Look Outside The Box For Solutions – Fury said, “I’m always looking for where the next enemies are coming from.  I never dreamed it would be from above.”
  7. The Best Leaders Have A Sense Of Nobility – Danvers said, “We are a race of noble warrior heroes.”
  8. Fury said, “War is a universal language.”
  9. A Person Is Known By Their Actions – Fury added, “I know a renegade soldier when I see one.”
  10. Great Leaders Never Confuse Activity With Accomplishment – Danvers said, “I’m not gonna fight your war. I’m gonna end it.”
  11. Great Leaders Are Not Passive.  They Address The Issue – Danvers said, “If lives are at stake, I’ll fly the plane.”
  12. First Gather Information And Then Make Decisions – After hearing a blackbox recording of her plane crash, Danvers viewed the Tree-Skulls war through a completely different lens.
  13. Smart Leaders Give Others A Healthy Sense Of Identity – Marie Rambeau, played by Lashana Lynch, told her former best friend and fellow pilot, “You’re Carol Danvers.  You were the person on the blackbox risking her life to save others.”
  14. You Are Either Building People Up Or Tearing Them Down – Rambeau added, “You’re the most powerful person I know long before you could shoot fire out of your hands.”
  15. Leaders Are A Picture Of The Desired Destination At Which Others Should Wish To Arrive – Rambeau’s daughter told her, “I think you should be asking what kind of example you’re setting for your daughter!”
  16. All Leadership Positions Are Temporary.  Steward Them Well While You Have Them. – Rogg told Danvers, “What’s given can be taken away.”
  17. Great Leaders Have Great Resilience And Keep Getting Back Up – The movie’s defining moment was when Danvers remembered several moments in her life when she got knocked down and kept getting back up.  Oftentimes, the difference between life’s winners and losers is the winners just kept getting back up after getting knocked down.
  18. Smart Leaders Know They Have Nothing To Prove – Danvers told Rogg, “I have nothing to prove to you.”

Once again, Captain Marvel is a very good movie.  Take the whole family and have a good time.  And we are only about 7 weeks away from Avengers: Endgame!!!
