Watson produced the play of the year in the NFL thus far. With 6:30 remaining in their game against the Oakland Raiders, the Texans were trailing 24-20. Watson had driven the team to Oakland’s 9-yard line and was looking to take the lead.
After taking the snap, Watson was grabbed by defensive end Arden Key and the following happened:
If you could not tell from the video above, Watson was literally kicked in the eye but composed himself and threw the game-winning touchdown pass to Darren Fells.
After the game, Watson told the esteemed pro football writer Peter King, “I felt even when they did grab me, I’d have the athleticism to get it out, somewhere. I didn’t care what was behind me.
