I always enjoy getting to point readers to some of the greatest Christian leaders on Twitter.  Why do I say some?  Because Christianity literally contains tens of thousands of leaders who could be on this list.  Therefore, no list is all-inclusive but this should still be a good resource for you.

Who do I look for to put on the list?

  • Leaders who are biblically-sound.
  • Leaders who provide or point me to compelling content.
  • Leaders who inspire and encourage me.
  • Leaders who make me laugh.
  • Leader who make me better.

With that as a profile, the following are The Top 30 Christian Leaders And Organizations You Need To Follow On Twitter In 2020.  My list of top bloggers will be coming out within the next week.

  1. Acts 29 – This is my favorite discipleship organization. A diverse, global family of church planting churches characterized by theological clarity, cultural engagement, & missional innovation.  And as I mentioned, the pastors I have met in this movement are some of the nicest and theologically sound leaders I have met.
  2. Lisa Bevere – Lisa’s authentic and passionate teachings weave profound biblical truths with practical application. A New York Times best-selling author, her books—which include Without RivalFight Like a GirlLioness Arising, and Girls with Swords—are in the hands of millions worldwide.  Lisa and her husband John, who’s also a best-selling author and teacher, are the founders of Messenger International, an organization committed to developing uncompromising followers of Christ who transform their world.
  3. Christine Caine – Few people are literally changing the world like Founder of @PropelWomen and advocate for
    @A21!  I will also say this, Christine may simply be the finest and most convicting speaker in Christianity right now.
  4. Cody Carnes and Kari Jobe – Cody’s Twitter account says “I love knowing Jesus and helping others do the same. I love @karijobe, Canyon & Kingston. I love writing songs & singing them.”  He is also my daughter’s favorite songwriter so you know he must be worth following!
  5. Michael Catt – Dr. Catt is the Senior Pastor of the wonderful Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga.  If you are unfamiliar with this church, well let me say he is also the Executive Producer of Sherwood Pictures & Woodlawn.  To get a picture of their recent work, click 25 Leadership Quotes and Lessons From Overcomer The Movie.
  6. Sam Chand – There may not be a wiser leader in Christianity.  Dr. Chand is one of the best leadership consultants I have met.  Who would have thought, when in 1973 “student” Sam Chand was serving Beulah Heights Bible College as janitor, cook and dishwasher that he would return in 1989 as “President” of the same college! Under his leadership it became the country’s largest predominantly African-American Christian College.  After meeting him, I did and so would you.  Dr. Chand is a former Pastor, college President, Chancellor and now serves as President Emeritus of Beulah Heights University.
  7. Dharius Daniels – Dr. Daniels is as good a Bible teacher as you will ever hear.  Dharius is a cultural architect and trendsetter for his generation. He is the founder and Lead Pastor of Change Church. Change Church is a vibrant ministry that impacts people of all ages, socioeconomic classes, and ethnic backgrounds.  Pastor Dharius has developed a Breathtaking Ministry concept that describes the standard of excellence: a standard that is apparent in his commitment not only to ministry but also to education.   8. Steven Furtick – Pastor Steven is the pastor of the great Elevation Church in North Carolina.  He is an author, musician, incredible preacher and one of the most amazing leaders you will ever meet.
  9. Rusty George – Pastor Rusty is the Lead Pastor at Real Life Church in Southern California; a multi-site church with campuses in Canyon Country, Simi Valley, Valencia and a large online community.  Under Rusty’s lead, Real Life has become one of the fastest growing churches in America.  Beyond leading his church of 6,000+ members every weekend, Rusty is a global speaker, leader and teacher focusing his message on helping people find and follow Jesus.   10. Jon Gordon – Jon is the most in-demand speakers and leadership coaches in America.  He is a best-selling author of 20 books including Energy Bus, Power of Positive Leadership, and The Carpenter.  His clients include the Los Angeles Rams, Clemson Tigers, Los Angles Dodgers, Dell, Snap, Miami Heat, and Indiana Pacers.
  11. Derwin Gray – One of my favorite leaders on the planet.  To know why, see the video above.  Pastor Derwin is Vicki’s husband, Presley and Jeremiah’s papa, and the magnificent Lead Pastor of Transformation Church.
  12. Chris Hodges – Chris is the pastor of one of America’s largest churches Church of the Highlands in Birmingham.  He is also the founder of Highlands College which is unleashing change agents for the world into Christian ministry.
  13. T.D. Jakes – Bishop Jakes needs no introduction.  He is the world-famous Senior Pastor of  The Potters House.  What I love most about his Twitter account is not only the constant source of encouragement, but his brilliant insights into business and leadership.  
  14.   15. Brad Lomenick – In my opinion, Brad is the greatest connector of Christian leaders in America.  He is the past leader of @CatalystLeader, author, and advisor to countless Christian leaders.
  16. Crawford Loritts – I’ve said it many times, no one can pack more quality content into 140 acres than the incomparable Senior Pastor of Fellowship Bible Church (Roswell, GA).  Dr. Loritts is also an author, speaker, and radio host of Living a Legacy & Legacy Moment.
  17. John Maxwell – My spiritual hero makes the list!  John needs no introduction but just in case, he is a bestselling author & speaker on leadership. He is also the most influential communicator on the subject of leadership perhaps in history.  John is the man!
  18. Museum Of the Bible – Located in Washington D.C., this is the world’s foremost collection of biblical antiquities.  They also have an incredible Twitter account which will provide you more daily information on the Bible than any site available.
  19. Orange Leaders – When it comes to creativity and understanding how to reach children, no one beats Orange.  With people like Reggie Joiner, Robert Carnes, Frank Bealer, and Jeff Henderson just to name a few, they also do an incredible job serving senior Christian leaders as well.
  20.   21. Ike Reighard – Ike is the pastor of Piedmont Church and CEO of MUST Ministries, an organization that helps the poor and under-resourced in the North Atlanta area.  Ike is one of my go-to resources for quality leadership content.  You can read more about him by clicking 10 Signs Of A Pastor You Can Admire.
  22. Precept Ministries – This is arguably my favorite organization and one I am privileged to financially support.  Founded by Jack and Kay Arthur, their mission is simple – Engaging people in relationship with God through Knowing His Word.
  23. Sadie Robertson – Who is the next great female evangelist?  My vote goes to one of the members of Duck Dynasty, Sadie Robertson.  Simple straight fire with a strong biblical context.
  24. Priscilla Shirer – Priscilla is a wife and a mom first.  But put a Bible in her hand and a message in her heart and you’ll see why thousands flock to her conferences and dive into her Bible study series’ and books each year.  A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Priscilla holds a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and considers it a privilege to serve believers from every denomination and culture by helping them to know the truths of Scripture intellectually and encouraging them to experience these truths practically by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  25. Terry Smith – The Hospitable Leader himself pastors one of America’s most diverse churches, the incomparable The Life Christian Church in West Orange, NJ.  If you are ever in the NYC area, you must visit this church and see what diversity looks like!  Just an incredible leader and church.
  26. Brian Stowe – Brian is a GREAT leader! He is husband to Bonnie, dad to Sarah, Hannah, Andrew and Elizabeth; and the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Plant City, FL.

  28. Bishop Walter Thomas – Bishop Thomas is the leader of New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore.  His influence with pastors is significant as he is the Presiding Prelate of Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors.  He is also instrumental in bringing healing and hope to his city.
  29. Adam Weber –  Adam is the Lead Pastor at a church called Embrace.  Embrace is a 10-year-old church that has grown to 6 campuses and 4,000+ people in weekly attendance, and is still growing. In 2013, 2014, & 2015, Embrace was listed as one of the fastest growing churches in America according to Outreach Magazine.
  30. Carson Wentz and Russell Wilson – The respective quarterbacks of the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks will be opponents this weekend but they are both on Team Jesus.
