This weekend, I will be providing a series of posts from my annual visit to Johnny Hunt’s Mens Conference in Woodstock, GA. This year’s theme is Renovate 2020. Over 4,000 men were live in attendance with another 25,000 attending via simulcast around the world.

Day 2 began with First Baptist Church Woodstock’s Senior Pastor Jeremy Morton sharing on the subject of prayer. Jeremy is as gifted as any preacher you will ever hear! The following are 38 leadership quotes and lessons from his incredibly convicting session:
- The primary way a man daily renovates his heart is prayer.
- Your education will only take you so far. Your money will only take you so far. Your charisma will only open so many doors…. Your social and political connections will take you so far but if you become a man who daily cries out to God, God will take you to where you need to be.

- God wants to pray because we need wisdom to love our wives and children.

- What we saw in the four-hour national championship game is the result of years of discipline.
- How many days will I waste my life before I submit to him.
- Satan is not as interested in making you wicked as he is making you busy.
- The devil’s favorite word is “Tomorrow.”
- Things are looking for you but are you looking for the Father first.
- Strength only comes through prayer.
- Do you know anyone who is Godly who is not a person of prayer?
- When enough tomorrows come and go, we waste our lives in powerlessness.
- You’ve got one life. Once you spent your life you can’t get it back.
- When you give your first thoughts of the day to Jesus, you don’t have to chase Him and wonder where He is all throughout the day.
- PACE – God, I praise you today. I accept your plan today. I commit my life and all in it today. I embrace today. I only have one February 1, 2020.
- ACTS – Adoration. Thanksgiving. Specific way to start today.
- PPPP – Top 4 Priorities – my heart, my marriage, my children, and this ministry.
- I try to go through every day looking at my Bible more than I am looking on my phone. I’m trying to put my focus on scriptures more than screens.
- Every time someone is riding in my car, we only listen to Christian music. I want my car to be a rolling tabernacle of praise.
- Make your car a holy habitation for the Lord.
- I try to leave my house with a Christian song in my heart.
- I try to pray over an open bible. I try to pray whatever I’m reading.
- Do you know how you get better at praying? By praying.
- I can’t promise you a less busy life. But I can promise you a less busy heart.
- The way out and up is about being down on your knees.
