This weekend, I will be providing a series of posts from my annual visit to Johnny Hunt’s Mens Conference in Woodstock, GA. This year’s theme is Renovate 2020. Over 4,000 men were live in attendance with another 25,000 attending via simulcast around the world.

I HIGHLY recommend you get each. They will make you an exponentially better leader.
He opened the event with an incredible lessons entitled How To Move From Useless To Useful. The following are 38 leadership quotes and lessons from his challenging and convicting lesson:
- This is year 28. I was 39 when I started doing this conference.
- Men are the untapped reservoir of untapped energy for the Kingdom of God.
- You will never build a significant work without a lot of generosity to resource the dream God has placed in your heart.
- We are in over 100 places in 27 states (for the simulcast).
- God doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the called.
- Aren’t you glad that through Jesus we can get past our past.
- Every believer should a compelling need to be used of God.
- To be used of God is my desire.
- Grace is God’s ability for me to obey.
- When God starts a local church, He puts everything in that church it needs to function.
- There’s nothing too dirty He can’t make worthy. He does this with the precious blood of our Savior.
- Redemption was God’s greatest work. Great was the work of creation. Greater was the work of redemption.
- It cost more to redeem us than to make us.
- Redemption speaks of priority, of value.
- God paid the ultimate price for you, to deliver you.
- If you need purpose and direction in life, come to Jesus.
- None of us can give a ransom for someone else. The only ransom God receives is the blood of Jesus Christ.
- What I choose to do that gets me dirty and dishonorable before God is my own doing.
- I’ve been saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit.
- Not only did Jesus pay it all, He did it all.
- Most of the things I do well, I didn’t get there by love. I got there by discipline.
- Mind the inside. Take care of your inward life. I’ve never had as much trouble with anybody as much as I have with me.
- I’m never more miserable than when I’m accommodating myself.
- Prepare for every good work.
- Whether you ever do good works, you’re prepared for them. He prepared you for every good work. It’s not what you’re doing for God. It’s what He’s doing through you.
- You start disobeying God, you’ll be shocked at what you have the capacity to do.
- I would rather it said of you “I was struggling” than “I was surrendering.”
- When you obey light, God increases light.
- Seminary don’t put fire in your bones. Seminary can teach what I ought to do. Only Jesus can teach me what I want to do.
- You are taught by God to love others.
- Racism is settled with the Gospel… The cross was enough.
- If you ever stop running from youthful lust, it will catch you, capture you, and pull you down.
- The flesh is not even redeemable.
- Jesus, continue to work so that I love what You love and hate what You hate.
- You can’t even go to Heaven without righteousness. That’s what God gave us during the great transaction on the cross.
- Janet and I celebrate this year 50 years of marriage.
- Do you know why they call it The Golden Years? Because you made it through the Non-Golden Years.
- The ones who least deserve love are the ones who most need it.
