Tonight I had the opportunity to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.  I had incredibly high expectations for this film as major blockbuster event movies are in shorter and shorter supply.  It did not disappoint.  I loved this movie even though the climatic battle scene was overdone as most Marvel final battle scenes are.  Make plans to see this movie!

Before reading my review of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, click from the first film 19 Leadership Quotes And Lessons From Black Panther The Movie.  The following are some thoughts:

Chadwick Boseman

Marvel’s tribute to the late actor at the beginning and ending of the film were classy bookends.  Well-done and quite moving.

Synopsis

Since Wakanda’s resources are available to the world, many countries with ill-intentions want their vibranium.  Through this process, vibranium is discovered in the Atlantic Ocean.  It so happens this is powering an undiscovered, underwater city called Talokan.  The fear of being discovered by the surface world is enough for Namor, the civilization’s king, to confront Queen Ramonda of Wakanda to hand over a young scientist who created a machine which detects vibranium.

Queen Ramonda emphatically declines and a large-scale conflict ensues.

Post-Credit Scene

Of all the Marvel movies made, the post-credit scene is most shocking of any I have seen.  A must-see!!!!  You will be talking about this ending for quite some time.  It also dramatically impacts the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Leadership Quotes and Lessons

The following are 12 Leadership Quotes and Lessons from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever:

  1. Successful Leaders Must Properly Evaluate Reality – The problem is always to identify the problem.  The solution then becomes obvious.  Queen Ramonda, played by the brilliant Angela Bassett, told a United Nations gathering, “It’s not the dangerous potential of vibranium (I’m concerned about), but the dangerous potential of you.”
  2. The Difference Between Successful And Unsuccessful People Is How They Think – Queen Ramonda told a grieving Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, “Does the construct of your mind offer you comfort or grief?”
  3. Grief Has Many Stages, One Is Anger – Shuri added, “If I think about my brother too long, it won’t be these clothes I burn, it will be the world.”
  4. The Only Difference Between Anger And Danger Is A “D” – Because of their anger, both Queen Ramonda and Shuri made very poor decisions.  Leaders, anger will cause you to harm the organization with your decision-making as well.
  5. Leaders Call For A High Level Of Commitment – Okoye, played by Danai Gurira, told MIT prodigy Riri Williams played by Dominique Thorne, “You have two choices: you can come to Wakanda conscious, or unconscious.”
  6. Shuri told Williams, “Brilliance at a young age is not always accepted by the elders.”
  7. It’s Rarely Talked About But Leaders Must Pay A Higher Price Than Those They Lead – Queen Ramonda exclaimed, “I am Queen of the most powerful nation in the world! And my entire family is gone! Have I not given everything?”
  8. “How is never as important as why.”
  9. Leaders Bring Great Clarity To Situations – Namor asked Shuri, “I need to know if Wakanda is an ally or an enemy.”
  10. Namor said, “Only the most broken people can be great leaders.”
  11. Shuri proclaimed, “I am the Black Panther and I’m here for retribution.”
  12. Great Leaders Are Reconcilers.  They Bring People Together. – Shuri told Namor, “Vengeance consumed us.  We cannot let it consume our people.”

Once again, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a fantastic movie!  A wonderful follow-up to the original classic!!!
