I am taking a detour from my normal Top 10 Posts I Read During The Week because on the morning of Tuesday, April 18th Dr. Charles Stanley went home to be with his Lord.
Though I was never a member of his First Baptist Church of Atlanta congregation, his ministry had a profound impact on my life. In addition to his television ministry, my wife Sonya purchased a copy of Dr. Stanley’s book The Wonderful Spirit Filled Life when we were first married. The words contained in those pages greatly shaped who she became as a wife and mother. And my daughter Anna and I were the beneficiaries.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire Stanley family as they undoubtedly grieve the loss of this spiritual giant but simultaneously celebrate a life lived like no other. No doubt Dr. Stanley’s faith has become sight as he heard the words written in Matthew 25:23, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”
