I usually stay away from difficult or controversial topics.  There are a number of reasons for this.  Many are personal but mainly the internet is filled with anger, shouting, and overwhelming uncivil discourse.  I do not wish to be a part of that.  I would rather instruct, inspire, provide resources, and tell the countless stories of the positive deeds which are taking place.

But the months of anger and sadness I felt over a certain issue happening in American churches spilled out of me last month.  A recent Barna study was the tipping point.  It compelled me to write 7 Reasons American Pastors And Church Leaders Are Asking AND Answering All The Wrong Questions which is about the #1 issues facing churches today and the silence on the topic from our pulpits.

The article must have struck a nerve because it was my most read post of the last 30 days.  Make sure you check it out and discuss its findings in your staff and Board meetings, as well as your small groups.
